A bitter tug of war that is straining relationships and
distancing people further,
when an apology could easily make things, right?
Because 'Sorry' seems to be the hardest word.
Apologizing is not the easiest of tasks but
often involves swallowing our pride and
admitting we were wrong.
Depending on the magnitude of the mistake,
it may take more than a simple sorry to make amends.
Whether it's a slight transgression or
an all-out blow,
coping with an offense on any level can put even
the most generous spirit to the test.
The act of apologizing brings us face to face with guilt
and there’s also the fear that we won’t be forgiven.
Seeking for forgiveness also psychologically
puts us in a somewhat subordinate position,
which makes many people uncomfortable.
Apologies won’t undo the hurt or harm that may have already been done,
but they do go a long way towards restoring dignity and
repairing damaged relationships.
Whether you apologise in person,
do take care to convey that your apology is genuine and
that it comes with an unconditional desire to
fix whatever the problem may have been.
=)
Apology is egotism wrong side out.
